Purpose: Recap on last semesters events and promote this semesters events. Discuss any updates on human right progressions (or regressions) around the world. Discussion is open to all!

Speaker Series with Idowu Ajibade
Date: Wednesday, January 26, 2011

Admission: FREE
Purpose: Lecture style presentation on Climate Justice and its effects on maternal health and poverty worldwide. Presented by Idowu Ajibade, a PhD student at UWO in Geography and Environmental Sustainability. Q&A styled presentation. Refreshments provided.

Amnesty Day
Date: Friday, January 28, 2011
Time: 10am-3pm
Location: UCC Atrium
Purpose: Come visit the atrium and learn about our chapter's main focuses – Maternal Health, Poverty and Business and Human Rights. Letters, postcards and petitions available for signing as well as resources to write your own!

A Night for Peace with Alex Neve
Date: Tuesday, February 15, 2011
Time: 5-6:30pm
Location: Council Chambers (UCC 315)
Admission: By donation (any amount!)
Purpose: Hosted by Amnesty International UWO and London chapters, this night will be fully dedicated to Alex Neve, Secretary General of Amnesty International Canada. Hear about what is going on in your world and ask questions you want answered! Refreshments provided

Refugee Simulation Camp
Date: Tuesday, March 15, 2011 and Wednesday, March 16, 2011
Time: 8 am - 3 pm the next day.
Location: UCC Concrete Beach
Purpose: Learn about how people are treated in refugee camps and make a difference in trying to better living conditions. We are working with STAND on this project and all the money raised from this event goes to Project Empowerment. From 7 - 8, we will be holding a candlelight vigil.
