Washington D.C.
Every year, a student trip to Washington D.C. is hosted by OPSS. The
following sites are only a sample of the many tourist hot spots the
students are given a chance to experience.
Infamous landmarks such as the
Washington Monument (left) and the White House (bottom) can be seen
close hand by visiting members.
Famous museums such as the US
Holocaust Memorial Museum and the Smithsonian National Museum of National
History offer students an amazing opportunity to learn more about
important events in history.
And last but not least, historical sites such as the National Archives,
the Lincoln Memorial, and
the World War II Memorial are
essential visiting sites for any student interested in US politics.
The next trip will be scheduled for next year's second term, most
likely around either late January or late February. Unfortunately,
spaces are limited, and if there is an overabundance of candidates for
the trip, members considered to have contributed the most to the club
will be selected ahead of others. Thus, it's highly recommended that
those who wish to attend the trip start attending the club's events and
socials as early as possible!
