Health Plan Referendum Question

The University Students’ Council (“USC”) currently implements a Health Plan for full-time undergraduate students. The costs of the USC Health Plan have grown to substantially exceed the money generated by the student fee that funds the plan. The USC Health Plan fee must be increased in order to maintain current coverage. If the fee is not increased as proposed below, then coverage must be reduced.

Are you in favour of:

1. increasing the USC Health Plan fee by ten dollars ($10.00), in addition to ordinary inflationary increases, for the 2012/2013 academic year, and
2. increasing the USC Health Plan fee in subsequent years by up to 7% annually?

Students’ ability to opt out of the Health Plan will be unaffected by this vote.
