The University of Western Ontario campus is committed to the highest standard of green infrastructure.  Western will achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification or greater for all major renovations and new building projects on-campus.

EnviroWestern and Facilities Management are teaming up to provide tours that will make stops at three of Western's top performing buildings. Each guided walk-through will specifically focus on green features implemented in these projects, such as, water and energy efficiency measures, environmental preferable building materials and construction methods, and measures to maximize indoor air quality performance.

Sign-up your group (maximum of 10) for a tour of recently completed campus projects; the McIntosh Gallery, Stevenson Hall, Claudette MacKay-Lassonde Pavilion (Western's first certified building), and the Ivey Building.

The free tour starts in the McIntosh Gallery, travels through the campus’ underground tunnels to Stevenson Hall and CMLP and finishes at the Ivey Building.

Along the way, we will point out and describe the various building features including a rain water cistern, LED lighting, FSC certified wood products, construction recycling, and effective ventilation design.

We welcome engaging discussions of sustainability and environmental initiatives during the tours.  Please sign up well in advance as spaces are limited. After you submit your form, a confirmation email will be sent with tour details (maps, parking, etc).
