TIME WARP

University Students' Council election officials were left wondering where the ballots were after several went missing from the presidential elections in 1970, The Gazette reported Feb. 6.

There were 10,000 ballots printed and only 9,223 accounted for, leaving 777 missing.

University Students' Council chief returning officer Don Thompson said only six of eight envelopes, containing 200 ballots each, were returned by the faculty of science.

Voting was reported to be very heavy in science with 900 students casting ballots. However, only 359 were accounted for.

The faculty of social science reported a reverse dilemma as they had 512 votes cast but returned 715.
