Gotta have my SALSA club fix!

Western students looking for an easy way to get in touch with the lowdown of campus events can now check out the new events calendar put out by the University Students' Council. Yesterday marked the grand unveiling of this new on-line information website.

All scheduled happenings from chess club events, guest speakers, sports events to affairs at the affiliated colleges can be found on the site.

USC president Dave Tompkins said while visiting this website you can customize your search to suit your personal needs, whether you are interested only in certain groups or specific dates.

If you wish to have your group's event posted in the calendar or if you just can't wait to get involved in upcoming events, simply go on-line at www.usc.uwo.ca/events.

What's the verdict?

The tables are turned today as the Western community is given the opportunity to learn more about the role of Canadian court judges.

Rosalie Abella, an Ontario Court of Appeals judge, will be speaking at noon in Rm. 38 of the Josephine Spencer Niblett Law Building. The event is sponsored jointly by the faculty of law, the distinguished speaker's committee and the University Students' Council.

Abella has won numerous awards and has a wonderful reputation for public speaking, said Francisa Sinn, organizer of the event.

Judith Walker, Western's law communication and fund development officer said the topic being discussed today will be the role of judges in Canadian society and the event is open to all.
