Western's University Students' Council scored a major breakthrough at Queen's Park this week in 1967, The Gazette reported:

The legislature's private bills committee studying Western's draft Act passed an amendment putting a student onto the Board of Governors.

At the same time the USC suffered a setback when they failed to get any more than three students into the Senate.

If the Act passes intact, Western will become the only North American university to have a student on the Board of Governors.
