Sixty per cent of Western students would support Great Britain if there was a war, The Gazette reported this week in 1939.

The paper interviewed 100 members of fraternities and sororities on campus, the Prefect-elect and Sub-Prefect elect.

Sixty-four per cent of frat members said they would go to war if Canada were faced with an invasion.

"Despite the apparently pugnacious attitude supported by Western students, a noteworthy inconsistency was shown in that only 17 per cent felt that war could preserve civilization!"
