Seal it with an Easter skate

London Easter Seals will be hosting a special event at Western's Thompson Arena tomorrow to benefit children with physical disabilities and their families.

The first annual Amway Skate for Easter Seals will take place between 12:30-2:30 p.m. and all those who offer support will have a chance to win prizes, along with an opportunity to meet guest skaters and hockey players.

Lisa Burrows, fund-raising manager for Easter Seals, said the event is expected to draw over 250 people and their goal is to raise $5,000 for the charity.

General admission is $5, but participants who wish to skate are asked to bring in a minimum of $20 in pledges to the arena, Burrows said. "Pledge forms are still available or can be filled out at the arena.

"There are 50 draw prizes and also some incentive prizes for the top pledge collectors," Burrows added. "The top individual fund-raiser will receive a Toronto Maple Leaf hockey sweater signed by Darryl Sittler. Also, for the team who raises the most amount will win a pizza and bowling party."
