Western Round-up

The Western wrestling team continued to throw and twist their opponents to a second-place finish at the University of Toronto open tournament Saturday. Seven Mustang wrestlers medalled in the meet, strengthening their sixth-place ranking in Canada. First-place honours went to veteran Kyle Chocorlan, who defeated Saroush Yadollahai of McMaster 8-2 in the 57-kilogram category and rookie Belinda Chou, who defeated Megan Dolan of the Niagara Olympic Wrestling Club in the 68-kg level. Tom Jackson, Mitch Dodd, Dave Legierski and Rob McDonald all took home silver. Unfortunately, the team experienced a major loss when team captain Scott Proctor went down with a back injury after his semifinal match and will likely not compete until after Christmas.

Figure Skating
The women of the Western figure skating team finished fifth at the Queen's Invitational in Kingston on Saturday. The only individual to finish first was Tamara Sutton, who took home gold in the Senior A singles division. Other individual achievements went to Juliana Haskett, second in the open solo dance and Janice Woods, third in the open singles.
