The Mustang Open Cross-Country meet entered its sixth year last Friday under sunny, cool skies at Gibbons Park in London.
Both the women and men ran away from the pack in their races to capture the overall title for the day. In the women's four-kilometre race Kristina Farr and Deanna Dowling finished third and fourth..
Guy Schultz once again proved his long-distance prowess, taking the individual title, while four of his teammates followed behind in the top 10.
On Saturday, the Western rowing team travelled to St. Catharines for the Brock Invites. Western continued its dominating performance at this regatta, placing in the top three in all 16 varsity final events.
The women's heavyweight eight continued their undefeated season pulling past some strong competition. Leigh Ann Niven, Cara Gillis, Dafyd Davies and Iain Brambell took individual gold singles honours while eight Mustang team boats left their opponents in their wake crossing the finish line first.
