Bored of Governors
Attention students it's your lucky day! For the next two weeks students have the opportunity to determine whether professors receive the passing grade.
Nominations for the third annual Awards for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching opened Monday and will close Oct. 31 at 4:30 p.m.. Students may nominate professors eligible for the four awards valued at $1,500 each.
"The awards are important because by acknowledging the professors, it encourages them to continue to improve their teaching methods and techniques," said Roxanne Porter, academic affairs officer for the University Students' Council.
Nomination forms are available in all deans' offices or in the students' council office in Rm. 263 of the University Community Centre.
University Students' Council members will be up for auction today with all proceeds going to United Way.
Board members, commissioners, counsellors and senators will be strutting their stuff and offering their services sorry, some limitations apply in the first-ever USC United Way Auction, said Sylvia Keszthelyi, organizer of the event.
The auction will take place today in the University Community Centre atrium from 1:15 p.m. to 3 p.m., following the Board of Governors forum. Students can bring cash and take home their very own USC member!
Gizmos game room, located downstairs in the University Community Centre, officially opened its new pool hall yesterday.
The new pool room boasts five new tables and costs players $7 per hour to shoot some stick, said Gizmos supervisor Kathleen Lafontaine.
To celebrate their opening, Gizmos is having an arcade giveaway contest. Fill out a ballot in the games room before Nov. 15 and you may be the lucky winner of a "Smash TV" arcade game.
