and to all a goodnight

The great Gazette holiday spirit helper

Want to exercise your seasonal spirit? Some of these local organizations could use your donations, whether in the form of funds, gifts or volunteers.

London Food Bank, 1161 King St. – Always in need of volunteers or donations, the food bank is a great way to get involved in the community. Call 659-4045 and ask for Mary Anne, Brian or Donna.

Children's Aid Society – There are five group homes for children in London with boys and girls ranging from ages 8-16. As the holidays approach, gifts for children would be appreciated, preferably generic gifts which could be used by the whole house, such as board games, puzzles, sporting goods (basketballs, baseballs, baseball bats) etc. One house is looking for a new phone, clothing and make-up are also appreciated. Please deliver any donations to 53 Gund St. (off Oxford Street, one block east of Wharncliffe Rd.).

Special Abilities Riding Institute (SARI), RR 1 Arva – Love kids and horses? Here's a way to get involved with both as you help physically and mentally challenged children learn to ride. No experience needed, as SARI will provide all required training. Volunteers are just asked to make a two hour per week commitment. Contact Kendra Martin at 666-1123.

Women's Community House, 101 Wellington Rd. – This women's shelter is in need of volunteers and donations. Donations can be in the form of money, used seasonal clothing, toiletries, paper products, dishes etc, but please, no furniture. Call 642-3003 for details.
