The Mustang men's volleyball team ended the year with a perfect 12-0 record after they travelled to Guelph for their regular season finale on Wednesday night.
The men played a tight match against the Gryphons who forced the Mustangs to five tough games before dropping by scores of 15-7, 12-15, 15-13, 11-15, 15-12.
Guelph, who came into the game with a 6-4 record, tied for third in the West and now drop to fourth with the loss.
The Mustangs will now prepare for Tuesday night's sudden-death semifinal which they will host at Alumni Hall. The Mustangs will play a yet-to-be-named opponent, depending on the outcome of the games tonight.
The women also travelled to Guelph on Wednesday night and added to their perfect season with a 3-2 victory, improving to 13-0. Although they added to their regular season record they lost their first games of the year coming into the contest with a perfect 36-0 record in games played.
Guelph, who's 10-2 record, second best in the West, proved a tough challenge for the Mustang women who squeaked out a five-game nail-biter, 13-15, 15-8, 15-10, 14-16, 15-11.
The women will put their regular season record on the line one more time tonight when Waterloo arrives at Alumni Hall. The match starts at 8 p.m.
