Re: USC election results

To the Editor:
The campaigning is over, the election results are final and we have a new USC President. What is Brett Slade's take on Ian Armour as president? I am 100 per cent in support of Ian Armour. I think that Ian is a very capable individual who commands a great deal of respect from anyone he is in contact with – including myself.

It is hard to lose. This particular defeat is something that hurts more than anything I have ever encountered in my life. It is hard to imagine the office of the president in someone else's hands, however, I fully support Ian Armour. If I could turn back time to one of the forums where I was asked: Who would you want to be president if you could not choose yourself? My answer would be Ian Armour, hands down. I am proud of Ian; he ran a great campaign, we had some great forums where I gained a respect for Ian unlike any other person I know. I was able to see firsthand Ian's expression of enthusiasm to make a difference here at Western.

If I have learned one thing from this election, it is that no matter how bad you want something it is sometimes impossible to convince others that you should have it.

Congratulations Ian Armour.

1998 USC Presidential Candidate
