To the Editor: The problem with the recently approved bus pass is that future first-year students will not have a voice. They are the people who will be hurt the most by it, as the majority live on campus and have little use for the bus. The proposal only benefits people who use the bus more than once weekly; how many students living in residence fit that category? In addition, a higher proportion of current students will be living off-campus next year. These factors result in a bias towards the Yes side. Perhaps it should have required more than a simple majority in the referendum to pass this proposal.
