The Mustangs were whipped 86-66 by a determined McMaster Marauder squad on Feb. 21 at Alumni Hall. Marauder All-Canadian Titus Channer recorded 28 points for the winning cause and was five for seven from three-point territory. Nat Graham led the Mustangs with a 21-point effort, while also collecting 12 rebounds. Western's leading scorer Micah Bourdeau, who was suffering symptoms of the flu, fell short of his season average of over 20 points, with only 12 on the afternoon. The win vaulted McMaster into the top spot in the national rankings.

Western was quick to rebound however, as they brushed by the Windsor Lancers last Wednesday 81-78. Micah Bourdeau returned to regular season form, scoring a game-high 30 points for the winning side. Meanwhile, Nat Graham recorded a second consecutive double-double, with an 11-point, 11-rebound performance. Rookie Chris Brown also had a strong game for Western. Cameron Nekkers led Windsor with 21-points, while Matt McMillan and Geoff Stead added 15 each.
