Redirect attitude

Re: Better than you?, March 11

To the Editor:
It seems that Dan Cipriano's anger is inappropriately focused on dental students when it should really be directed towards the instructors in question.

The statement that, "I'm better than someone else because I'm a dental student" is both unfounded and insulting. Being a first-year dental student, I can honestly say that I do not subscribe to Dan's idea of what a dental student is like. I would like to ask Dan where he came up with this idea and ask him to substantiate it with convincing evidence. I spend entire days communicating with dental students and I have yet to meet one with an arrogant attitude as Dan described. So, Dan, before you accuse the entire school of dentistry of being arrogant and disrespectful, make sure that your anger is not misplaced.
