Re: Our Canada includes atheists, March 4

To the Editor:
Mr. Blessin, your letter is interesting since it points to something that is presently lacking. We need absolute truth: that which is intrinsically true and therefore independent of its surroundings or general level of acceptance. Regardless of whether you're a "humanist, atheist... a freethinker" or anything else, this is true: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." This is truth. Human acceptance neither authenticates it nor does it increase its validity. God loves you and offers you eternal life because "Christ died for the ungodly." (John 3:16, Romans 5:6, respectively).
