Performing for United Way

It costs only a loonie – but it's a full day of music.

Western's faculty of music's second annual performathon for the United Way takes place Saturday in the Talbot Theatre.

"[It will be] a worthwhile event and a fantastic value," said Nikki Attwell, a public affairs assistant in the faculty of music.

The event kicks off at 7:30 a.m. with a complimentary breakfast, courtesy of Western food services, with performances commencing at 8 a.m. and running straight through until 8 p.m.. From classical to broadway and celtic to jazz, the musical offerings, primarily from Western staff and students, will exceed the spectrum of styles normally heard at the faculty of music.

Attwell said the public is encouraged to come at any time during the day and stay as long as they please. Although admission is $1, any further donations at the door would be greatly appreciated.
