Weekend Round-up

Volleyball (Women)

The Mustangs took care of business in their home opener on Friday defeating Brock in straight sets 3-0 (15-5, 15-8 and 15-4). Earlier in the week on Wednesday, Waterloo also lost to Western in straight sets 3-0 (15-5, 15-10, 15-13).



Basketball (Men)

The men travelled to Sudbury on the weekend to compete in the Voyageur Invitational at Laurentian University. In a three-game round robin, the Mustangs took two games, defeating Lakehead 88-69 and host Laurentian 90-68. Only Alberta proved to be stronger with a 89-80 score in their favour. In the end, the standings stood with Alberta, 3-0, Western 2-1, Laurentian 1-2 and Lakehead, 0-3. Mustang Nat Graham was named a tournament all-star.



Basketball (Women)

The women hosted their annual Purple and White tournament over the weekend at Alumni Hall. Gearing up for another season, the Mustangs went undefeated with wins against Queen's 83-59, Ryerson 64-52 and Carleton 62-36.
