Convocation is here again

Western's fall convocation began yesterday and will continue at Alumni Hall today.

Western's 271st convocation will see more than 1,500 graduates receive degrees and diplomas.

According to Greg Moran, VP-academic at Western, honorary degrees will also be awarded to Carol Shields, a Pulitzer Prize winning author who will be speaking at 10 a.m. today, as well as lawyer Claude Pensa, who will address graduates at 3:30 p.m.

Let's get ready to rumble

The Wave is getting ready to rumble for the first ever wrestling match on Nov. 4.

Northern Frontier Wrestling is sponsoring the event, which will feature the World Wrestling Federation's Al Snow and his sidekick Head.

Snow will be fighting Lou Marconi in a ring to be set up on the dance floor, said Andrew Mes, assistant manager at the Wave.

With the price of the tickets costing $5, Mes believes they will sell out fast. "I think this will be huge. I think it'll be fantastic," he said.
