Re: Vandalized doors

To the Editor:

I am saddened by some news from a good friend. Unfortunately her news contained similar disturbing news about a third friend.

Someone has been vandalizing doors of graduate students' offices in University College. These particular doors had a certain sticker on them. The sticker read: "Gay and Lesbian Positive Space – This is a place where human rights are respected and where gays, lesbians, bisexuals, their friends and allies are welcomed and supported."

I refuse to believe that these two doors were defaced as random acts of stupidity. The fact that the offices are on different floors won't allow me to. One of the doors also had "kill fags" scrawled on it as well.

In this building where I sit and read for classes, a particular hate and intolerance may walk the halls. These thoughts fill me with the melancholy of one hundred cellos.
