Charging my money

Re: "Students charged for opt-out" Nov. 4

To the Editor:

Apparently, the University Students' Council has determined that it's fair to charge myself and over 7,500 other Western students for providing us with our own drug coverage.

Seeing as how it is a students' council, though, maybe Jim Walden (USC general manager) can explain how they determined a cost of $27,172.80 (7,548 x $3.60) in "administrative and cheque writing processes" to give us our money back? I thought that one month's interest on over $670,000 might have done the trick. Silly me.
