To the Editor:

We write to congratulate all the people involved in the Western men's soccer team's championship victory.

This was the second year they won a Canadian Interuniversity Athletic Union national championship – a feat not easily accomplished by any varsity team.

We would also like to congratulate Ontario University Athletics gold medalists: the men's rugby team, the women's rowing team, Teresa Duck (a cross country gold medalist) and Jamie Dunnett (the OUA men's tennis individual champion). We would also like to send kudos to all other CIAU and OUA medalists.

The University Students' Council would like you to know that your accomplishments do not go unnoticed. We are very proud of your achievements and wish you the best of luck in the future.

Go Stangs!
University Students' Council
Board of Directors

P.S. We regret to inform the Gazette football team that an overruling by the (impartial) referee has led to a proclamation of our status as "winners" of the annual football match.

A good time had by all, but we won. Unfortunately for The Gazette, they dropped the (foot)ball... again.
