Once upon a time...

An international women's gathering will take place today featuring a woman who knows how to tell a story.

According to Rose Aquino, international student advisor of the Student Development Centre, Desiree Sargeant, a women's storyteller who travels throughout North America, has been invited to speak at Western.

"She will deal with international and cultural stories – women's stories," Aquino said.

This is the third year the interactive event has occurred. "And it's worked really nicely," she added.

Although women are primarily encouraged to come to the event, Aquino said anyone interested in international or cultural issues may attend, as well as those who would like to meet women from different cultures.

The gathering takes place at 5 p.m. today at the International Student Centre in Rm. 200 of the University Community Centre.
