USC health plan leaves a cold chill

Vote = student responsibility

A loving son's kind thought

Vote = student responsibility

To the Editor:

Well Western, today the ball is in our court. We have the responsibility of electing student representatives to the two highest governing bodies of the university – the Senate and the Board of Governors.

These bodies deal with issues concerning academic quality, tuition, housing and various other aspects of student life. It is important that we elect students who will represent us fairly and who will fight competently for our best interests.

This year, voting will be done entirely online at www.uwo.ca and all that's needed is your personal indentification number and student number. With this added convenience, there really is no excuse not to vote.

But our responsibilities as students do not end there.

I encourage you to remember the names and faces of the people who are elected. In the following year, they will be looking to us for input and direction on the issues facing them. Email them, phone them, leave a note in their mailbox in the [University Students' Council] office Rm. 340, UCC. Do whatever it takes to let them know your opinion on matters that will affect you in the years to come.

Only then can they truly represent you.
