Starting Monday, the University Community Centre will be transformed into a sea of booths, clubs and opportunities.

The University Students' Council presents clubs week 1999, running from Monday Sept. 20 to Friday Sept. 24 between 10-4 p.m..

With over 130 clubs participating this year, clubs officer Najeeb Shafiq said there is a club to cater to all interests.

"Whether your interest lies in religion, politics or just plain fun, you are guaranteed to find a club suited to you. That's the great thing about Western," Shafiq said.

Some of the clubs offered will accommodate interests such as paintball, in-line skating, various religious groups, the debating society and The Simpsons club, he said.

Over 12,000 Western students joined clubs last year, Shafiq said. "Clubs Week '99 is expected to be a great success."
