On Sunday, the university held its annual Western Open and the women's team placed second behind Queen's University, while the men placed third behind Brock and Lakehead universities. Highlights included Mitch Dodd and Belinda Chow winning gold in the 57 kilogram category, Rachael Dean silver in the 57 kilogram category and Wells winning another silver in the 53 kilogram category.

The indoor hockey team started their season this weekend beating Queen's 2-0 and losing to York University 9-2.

And the winner of The Gazette's Super Bowl contest was third-year music student Michael Foley.
