Wanted: Great graduates

Western's department of communications and public affairs is calling out to all of Western's unsung heroes.

The department is looking for any students who have overcome great obstacles, made unusual career plans, excelled in academics or extra-curricular activities, or have a unique story to tell, said Marcia Daniel, the department's public affairs assistant.

Students who fill these shoes should pass their names onto the department, as they would be great candidates for a profile of this year's graduating class, Daniel added.

"This is not a competition or contest," she said, explaining the department is looking for interesting stories which may become the subject of a university media release. "We are just looking for an interesting story."

Daniel said the department does not want complete biographies of students, but rather the student's name, phone number and some brief personal information.

Student names can be submitted to Rm. 130 of the Stevenson-Lawson Building.
