Charity concert for cancer

Western's faculty of engineering science and the Canadian Cancer Society are working together to raise funds for cancer research.

The band Skyfish, followed by four other bands, including Stepson and Zuul's Evil Disco, will play at a benefit concert, said Stacey Sukerman, member of the Undergraduate Engineering Society and co-organizer of the event.

"Students should attend because they will be supporting [London's] independent music talent and raising money for cancer, a cause that hits home with almost everyone," she said. All the money raised from ticket sales will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.

The event will be held at 8 p.m. at the Embassy this Thursday, she said, adding everyone is invited to attend. Wet/dry cards will be accepted and tickets can be purchased in advance in the University Community Centre atrium.
