Bike safety and prevention of theft, are the objectives of a new program at Western.

In response the increasing number of stolen bicycles at Western over the past year, the University Police Department, in co-ordination with Western's Foot Patrol, are holding bicycle registration sessions in front of the Concrete Beach toady, said Const. Wendy McGowan of the UPD. She added there have been over 33 bicycle thefts on campus over the past year alone.

McGowan said she along with volunteers from Foot Patrol will be handing out free bells and reflective tape to make bike riding safer for Western students. Information on bicycle safety and maps of bike trails in London are also available.
