Gettin' clubbed

To the Editor:

Chalk another one up for Osama Bin Laden.

Through his various attacks on the United States, he has convinced the Canadian government to enact extreme new laws enabling police to detain those they suspect may commit a terrorist act for 72 hours without charges.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind seeing protestors getting clubbed or cameras on city streets checking on crime – I really don't – but these laws are getting pretty close to Taliban laws.

Justice Minister Anne MacLellan apparently thinks these laws will stop terrorist attacks in Canada. Actually, we are already protected by bin Laden himself.

So many terrosist groups train and are funded in Canada that we are practically an ally of Al-Qaeda.

Be not afraid, Canadians, of terrorist attacks at home. Rather, be afraid of Anne "Mcleliban" and the other Liberals.
