Calling all wannabe actors

If you have ever wanted to try your luck at showbiz – here's your chance.

For those students interested in operetta performance, Theatre Western, in conjunction with the London Music Theatre Company, is producing Gilbert and Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance, said Michelle Witen, Theatre Western commissioner for the University Students' Council.

Auditions take place today and tomorrow from 6:45 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in Talbot Theatre.

For students interested in the funnier side of things, Theatre Western is also staging LAUGH.

"LAUGH is a scripted comedy show which turns a potential serious situation into something funny," Witen explained.

Auditions for LAUGH are taking place Oct. 2 and 3, between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. in Conron Hall.

No prior experience is needed, but students are required to prepare one song and wear comfortable clothing for possible dancing.
