Student support ready to go
The Great Hall opened its doors last week to students receiving help from the Ontario Student Assistance Program.
OSAP pickup is available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Thursday and line-ups have been surprisingly short thus far according to Glen Tigert, director of Student Financial Services and Academic Records.
Students who plan to pick up their loans late may be out of luck as Tigert believes traffic problems may result from a sudden rush of loan seekers.
Starting this Friday, the forms move to the Stevenson-Lawson building for pick-up.
Approximately 30 to 40 per cent of Western students use OSAP and are expected to pick up their forms by Sept. 14.
This year students can go online to check whether their loan is ready to be picked up. On the Office of the Registrar web site
(www.registrar.uwo.ca), students can check to see if their loan has arrived, whether it has been signed and where they can retrieve it.
