Disabilities Awareness Week

This year's Disabilities Awareness Week – a yearly event hosted by the University Students' Council to help promote awareness of various disabilities that students may face – will take place Jan. 28, 29 and 30.

"People often assume that having a disability means being in a wheelchair, but it doesn't," said Sera Vavala, USC VP-campus issues.

Vavala added that the disabilities students on campus experience are wide ranging and varying.

"There are several disabilities on-campus and various different resources available," she said.

Events during the week will include wheelchair basketball and interactive displays by Easter Seals.
