Winston has no DEX-terity?

Re: "Three's company... Frat boy and Zoo soph join Sinal in race for presidency," Jan. 16

To the Editor:

I was very surprised to read that Kyle Winston helped formed the DEX business club that runs out of the Richard Ivey School of Business.

As an honours business administration student at Ivey, a founding member of DEX and the current VP-recruitment & development for the DEX Ontario organization, I can assure you this information is entirely incorrect.

Winston is not a founding member of DEX at Western. In fact, he was never a member of the Western chapter. His only involvement in the DEX organization was in 1998 when he was a member of an unratified, satellite chapter of ten students, running out of Huron University College.

That group dissolved shortly after its inception and interested members (of which Winston was not one) were absorbed into the previously established Western DEX.

His claim to be a founding member is not only untrue but is disrespectful to the 12 Western students who did start this club and who have worked along with others to build it into the number one competitive business club on campus.

In regards to the DEX club being run out of the Richard Ivey School of Business, that information is also false. Winston is not a student at the business school and the DEX club is a ratified University Students' Council club operating out of Western's main campus.
