Grad in student-teacher sex scandal
Allegedly slept with 15-year old boys
By Joel Brown
A former Western student is on trial in London, England after she allegedly seduced three teenage boys while serving as a substitute biology teacher.
According to published reports in the London Daily Mail, prosecutors told a jury on Monday how they believe Amy Gehring originally from Otterville, Ontario had sex with a 14-year-old boy in an alleyway and slept with two 15-year-olds at a New Year's Eve party in 2000.
Gehring, a graduate of Western's Althouse College in the spring of 2000, has plead not guilty to five counts of indecent assault. The legal age of consent is 16 in Britain.
Prosecutor Stella Reynolds claimed Gehring became "infatuated" with her first alleged victim and hounded him with cell phones calls, begging him to meet with her.
He was later devastated to learn she had also slept with his 14-year-old brother, he claimed.
Gehring was arrested last Feb. 16 after rumours swirled through the school, the Daily Mail said.
The first alleged victim, identified in court as Boy A, provided evidence Tuesday from a video link camera and described three alleged-sexual encounters with Gehring.
The first occurred in an alleyway as he waited for his mother, he claimed. The next at a friend's house during a party and the third on New Year's eve.
"I wish it had never happened," he said. "She kept ringing me, trying to meet up with me, saying sorry. I told her to leave me alone, I was really annoyed."
Boy B, Boy A's younger brother, said the teacher visited their home one night and asked to stay the night. At around midnight, she insisted to be walked home where she later seduced him while walking through an alley, he claimed.
"She started to kiss me. I was saying 'I don't think we should be doing this, with our age difference.'
"She said, 'Oh go on, please' and kissed me even more. She then took off her trousers, took down mine and told me to lie on the floor."
A third boy claimed his virginity was taken by Gehring.
According to Althouse dean Allen Pearson, Gehring made the dean's list while at the school.
Gehring is a former student at Norwich District High School located in Norwich, Ontario: a small town southeast of London where she also taught as a science student-teacher, said Thames Valley District School Board superintendent Mike Sereda.
The trial continues.
