Blackalicious
Blazing Arrow
MCA

4 stars out of 5

With eclectic rhythms and genuine vision, Blackalicious have produced the ultimate mosaic of music.

Blazing Arrow is a brilliant interbreed between trip-hop, funk, soul, jazz, classic rock, bossa-nova and gospel. Blackalicious have deliberately created a new direction for hip-hop.

The album features many guest appearances. Multiple tracks are produced and performed by ?uestlove of Roots fame. Half of the tracks are complemented by contemporary music stars, including Dilated Peoples, Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, Jurassic 5 and Zach De La Rocha.

This disc is a gem that will likely never find itself too far from your ears because, like Blackalicious say, "when you're really feelin' the moment, it's love."
