Re: "Massive revisited," Mar. 7

To the Editor:

I can only wonder what prompted Mark MacLellan to vilify our newly elected student leader.

As VP-student affairs, Chris Sinal took on a daunting task that included battling the often apathetic nature of the Western student community as a whole – the very thing he wants to abolish.

He began a project and followed through with it. Whether or not there were mistakes made initially is not the issue. The real issue is what was done to resolve the situation.

Sinal handled the situation with expertise and honesty. He is a knowledgeable and capable leader and I expect him to do an excellent job in his tenure as University Students' Council president.
