Still listening

Re: "You don't count the dead when God's on your side"
Sept. 10

To the Editor:

It was with interest that I read Chris Lackner's most recent column. Just recently, I pulled out my old Dylan Biograph set and got back into the music which once prompted so much introspection. As Lackner identified, Dylan's messages are increasingly poignant given the current political atmosphere. The songs "Blowin' in the Wind" and "With God on Our Side" raise many questions, yet are only an incomplete glimpse of the nature of conflict. Unfortunately, we have much more to think about when we listen to "Masters of War" and "Only a Pawn in Their Game."
