Fat, gun totin' Texans invade Call The Office

What do you get when four fat Texans get together and start a band? The answer is Bowling For Soup.

The Gazette had the chance to chat with guitarist and lead vocalist Jaret Von Erich about being fat, hailing from Texas, Britney Spears and writing music. The following is what the big man had to say.

Filter puts the heat in Snow Jam

This past weekend, Toronto's Exhibition Place saw Snow Jam 2002 come and go amidst a flurry of skateboarders, snowflakes and rockin' sounds.

Almost Famous: Becoming someone else

Just when I began to think that television couldn't get any worse, it sank to a new low.

It was probably my mistake for expecting anything more than superficial tripe from MTV, America's pay-to-play music channel that features either Britney or the Backstreet Boys a minimum of five times a day.

CD REVIEW: Sugarcult

In the MTV society we live in, it's really easy to get sucked in by things that look good. Start Static, the recent release from Sugarcult looks damn good. The photography and graphic design on the CD booklet is smashing and the ample amount of band photos are actually welcome for once, because the band is hot. Unfortunately, the majority of the band's time and energy must have been spent on these aesthetic details because, simply put, the music on this CD sucks.
