Hot + Bothered 4: short short fiction on lesbian desire
Edited by: Karen X. Tulchinsky
Arsenal Pulp Press, 2003

“I find her cunt hot and open, her clit throbbing, her body heaving in the desire for me to take her.”

No, it’s not a quote ripped from a letter to Penthouse magazine — it’s the theme for about half of the stories in Hot + Bothered 4. So in one very stereotypical sense, this book may seem geared towards the average straight male as much as any lesbian. But the rest of Hot + Bothered 4 is filled with stories about first times, abstract internal dialogues or artsy pontifications on what being a lesbian means — concepts far too pithy for a knuckle-dragging, lecherous straight guy to understand or care about.

As with any collection of short stories, there are some gems and some pieces of crap. Nevertheless, it’s still nice to see girls are just as horny as guys.

Quickies 3, short short fiction on gay male desire
Edited by: James C. Johnstone
Arsenal Pulp Press, 2003

Porn. Erotica. Call it what you will, but it’s there to serve a purpose.

Quickies 3, short short fiction on gay male desire does just that. The 72 stories are short. And when they say short, they mean short.
Stories include such titles as, “Bill’s Big Dick,” “Hey Straight Boy” and “Porn Stars.” They range from slightly mild to hard-core explicit sex. The one unifying element, however, is sex.

Sex, sex and more sex. If you like to read about gay sex, this is the book for you. There are very few non-XXX passages throughout the stories, but here’s a sample.

In the story, “A Matter of Pride,”: “Two men are standing above me, whispering to each other, jeans bunched down around their ankles.” Then, well, we can’t tell you what happens next. You’ll have to read it for yourself.
