Sports Interrogation

Only six players in the history of the National Hockey League have scored 700 goals or more: Wayne Gretzky, Gordie Howe, Marcel Dionne, Phil Esposito, Mike Gartner and, now, Brett Hull. Hull was the second fastest sniper to reach the 700 goal milestone, behind only "The Great One." This brings forth the hypothetical - and we stress hypothetical - question of:

Since only Wayne Gretzky scored 700 goals faster than Brett Hull, would that make Brett Hull the second best player in NHL history?

"No way, fuck that shit. Brett Hull wasn't even good enough to play for the Canadian National team."
-Erik Mitchell,
ACS I

"First of all, Gretzky wasn't the best - Bobby Orr was. And secondly, Brett Hull is only a pure goal scorer, whereas Gretzky was the entire package."
-Gareth Pocock,
ACS I

"I don't think so. It's a team game, and it's more than guys just putting the puck in the net. It's not all about goals and assists - there are other aspects to hockey."
-Ryan McKie,
captain of the Western's hockey team,
Economics IV
