Re: "Illicit drugs: the highs and lows," Jan. 16

To the Editor:

I am speechless. It seems that the attempt to educate Western on the topic of "illicit substances" has gone the wrong way, again.

The issue of influence on students to do drugs is ridiculous. If an article has the ability to sway you into trying weed or heroin, you were most definitely going to do it anyway. For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of "ripping one back" yet, you will probably be influenced by a close friend. Don't worry, it will be an awesome trip (to find out what you'll be doing, see a previous letter to the editor, "How to construct a loser," step 7, for the best ideas).

For those who look down upon us substance users, lighten up, put the beer and cigarette down (or not, it's your call), get high and repeat into infinity (step 10). If not, shut up, and leave us peaceful ones alone.
