swing and struttin'
Formal wear and fashionable clothes hope to make some cash for a cause.
The theme of this year's Charity Ball Fashion Show is "The Roaring Twenties," said event organizer Natasha Collia. "It will be a mixture of salsa dancing, swing dancing, as well as walk-outs and modelling of the clothes provided from Masonville Mall and Richmond Row stores."
The event will be held at The Wave on Jan. 15, Collia said, adding tickets will be $3 and go on sale today at the University Students' Council Front in the University Community Centre atrium. Tickets will also be available at the door, she added.
Doors open at 9 p.m., Collia said, adding there will be a band opening before the show.
All the proceeds will go to the AIDS Committee of London and the Sexual Assault Centre London, Collia said.

The University Students' Council's Festival of the Arts kicks off on Monday, Jan. 20. The festival, titled "The AlteRnaTive," will be a day and night affair, running until Friday, Jan. 24, said Lil Chieh, USC VP-student affairs.
There are several events planned for the occasion, including an art show, debate, film screenings, battle of the bands and a coffeehouse, Chieh said. Also on the roster is an informal Busker Fest, with participants performing at random times and locations around campus, she added.
Entries and contributions are being accepted by Chieh and Festival of
the Arts commisioner Dave Vaillancourt at firstname.lastname@example.org.
