Sports Interrogation

It's been a long, strange trip for the National Football League this past season; a season that will sadly come to its conclusion this weekend when a Super Bowl champion is crowned in San Diego, California. Will the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense be able to withstand the run-and-gun offense of the Oakland Raiders? Will Jon Gruden be able to shut down his former team and chow down on a big, fat bowl of poetic justice? Or will NFL Most Valuable Player Rich Gannon serve Gruden a hefty slice of humble pie?

Who is going to win Super Bowl XXXVII, the Oakland Raiders or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?

"I wouldn't bet on it, but Oakland. My reason being that, although both teams are outstanding, Oakland is more consistent at the quarterback position. But, Tampa Bay's defense will give them a test."

– Larry Haylor,
head coach of the Western football team

"The Buc's by far. I don't like Warren Sapp, but I think Jon Gruden is going to stick it to his old team."

– Spencer Cossette,
Psychology II

"Los Angeles. Their receivers are too good and they have the MVP (Rich Gannon)."

Editor's Note: Los Angeles isn't playing in the Super Bowl and doesn't even have a team , but engineers still rule the world...

– Wes Irvin,
Mechanical Engineering II

"Tampa Bay because they have by far the best defense and Oakland has a terrible defense. Tampa Bay by two touchdowns."

– Colin Attwood,
History III
