CD REVIEW: Harry Manx and Kevin Breit
Jubilee: a sonic journey

Harry Manx and Kevin Breit
Jubilee
Northernblues Music

RUNDOWN: Brought together by the Summerfolk festival in Owen Sound over the summer, the Canadian duo of Harry Manx and Kevin Breit have created their first album, Jubilee. The two team up to create a folk album that is primarily instrumental.

KEY TRACKS: Jimi Hendrix's "Voodoo Child" is transformed from its rock 'n' roll roots to a soft, smooth composition quite unlike the original. "Unmoved by Love" is the epitome of easy listening on this album. This typical love song is moving and dangerous for emotional listeners.

SOUNDS LIKE: The music is laid back, with only two up-tempo songs. If you're looking for an album to relax to, this one will do the trick. For those who appreciate the rustic sounds of folk music, this record is for you. However, if you're heading out for the night, you might want to pass on Jubilee and reach for an album with a little more pep.
