CD REVIEW: Red Hot & Riot
Red hot!

Red Hot / MCA Music

Rundown: Created as an AIDS benefit project, this blend of African rhythms and melodies with funk and jazz makes for a delightfully energetic and upbeat listen, despite some hard-hitting lyrics and the CD's underlying serious purpose.

Key Tracks: "Shuffering & Shimmering" begins as free-flowing African jazz and evolves into an uncompromising rap anthem. "Shakara/Lady, Part One & Two" is a funky tribute to African women.

Sounds Like: Catchy rhythms, blaring horn sections, funky bass lines and passionate vocals are guaranteed to heat up the coldest Canadian winter.
