death of diplomacy: war looms," Mar.18
To the Editor:
I picked up The Gazette for the first time in a little while, and I wasn't surprised to find over three articles on the looming war.
The one thing that I wanted to bring to everyone's attention is that we are the general public. And what do we know? I understand that we know that war is bad and no on likes it. It will hurt the economy and, worst of all, claim many lives civilians too. Naturally this will fuel public disagreement with American President George W. Bush.
I side with you (the public), but I really don't feel like I'm allowed to! I simply don't know both sides to the story. I don't know what Bush knows, and I don't know what Bush's people know. I can't imagine how the people of Iraq feel and I certainly don't know what it is like to be an angry American.
I'm not trying to start a fight, but I think that if you've got an opinion, you better know why.
