War talks

Re: "The death of diplomacy: war looms," Mar.18

To the Editor:

I picked up The Gazette for the first time in a little while, and I wasn't surprised to find over three articles on the looming war.

The one thing that I wanted to bring to everyone's attention is that we are the general public. And what do we know? I understand that we know that war is bad and no on likes it. It will hurt the economy and, worst of all, claim many lives – civilians too. Naturally this will fuel public disagreement with American President George W. Bush.

I side with you (the public), but I really don't feel like I'm allowed to! I simply don't know both sides to the story. I don't know what Bush knows, and I don't know what Bush's people know. I can't imagine how the people of Iraq feel and I certainly don't know what it is like to be an angry American.

I'm not trying to start a fight, but I think that if you've got an opinion, you better know why.
